BOTT#001 Introduction to IMUK 2019

Introduction

In this week’s show, Bob Chaperone rides the new Ironman UK bike course in Bolton. Bob shares his experience and provides the following insights:

  • Perspective. It's the start of a new cycling year. Most routes will feel difficult at this time of year... especially if you've only ridden 50 miles so far this year!

  • Look up. There are some amazing views and sights on the new route. All the villages have beautiful chapels to admire. You can even see Blackpool Tower from the top of Grane Road!

  • The route itself. On race day, the whole route will come alive... especially 3x Chorley New Road and Belmont Village past the Black Dog.

In the countdown to this years’ event, I’ll be recording a series of episodes dedicated to the new UK Ironman bike route. I’ll be going out solo and with friends riding a variety of distances… all with the intent of unpicking this new course and reporting back.
