Ironman UK
Pennington Flash, Lancashire. Sunday, 15 July 2018. I’d quite enjoyed the training leading up to this year’s Ironman. Perhaps more so than previous years. I was never going to beat my PB from 2013 (11 hrs and 44 mins), but at least I would beat last time from 2014 (14 hrs and 47 mins). Or so I thought…
“If you ever catch me near a boat again, shoot me!”
And so I never thought I’d break Rule #42 again… however, there were many things that I had to sort out… for right and for wrong.
The magic carpet works again. It turns pain into pleasure. All that suffering goes away. At first, you run next to the carpet away from the finish line. Then you turn and celebrate the last 50 yards with the rest of supporters. Bob Buckley. You. Are. An. Ironman.
